Faculty of Applied Arts at Benha University Holds a Seminar on Industrial Design Skills and Bridging Academic Education with Labor Market Requirements
As part of its commitment to strengthening the integration of academic education with labor market needs and fostering closer links between education and industry, the Faculty of Applied Arts at Benha University organized a specialized seminar through its Industrial Design Department on the skills required of industrial designers in the design of metal sections and structures.
The seminar was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Osama Nada, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Gazzar, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Department.
The seminar was delivered by Eng. Sherif Kamel, Founder and Executive Director of Metal Line, as part of the Faculty’s efforts to strengthen communication between academic institutions and the industrial sector and to benefit from professional and practical expertise in developing students’ skills.
The seminar addressed practical applications of industrial design in the fields of display stands, electrical panels, and structures and constructions using metal sections. It also highlighted the importance of applying academic knowledge to industrial practice, understanding labor market requirements, and acquiring the technical skills expected of graduates in this specialization.
Furthermore, the seminar provided students with an opportunity to gain insight into professional experience in industrial design and develop a better understanding of the practical and industrial challenges they may encounter in their careers. These insights contribute to enhancing students’ design and technical capabilities and better preparing them for entry into the labor market.
This event forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Industrial Design Department at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Benha University, to strengthen partnerships with the industrial sector, advance the educational process in line with labor market requirements, and prepare qualified graduates capable of innovation and competition.
